About Me
I began working in the mental health field for over 15 years ago. My own journey to the world of therapy began as a curious and ever inquisitive child, attempting to make sense of the interpersonal relationships that existed around me. It was this curiosity that eventually led me to the field of counseling where I have found a true passion.

People often ask me “What made you want to be a counselor?” The answer has always been extremely easy, yet profoundly personal. The answer put simply is I wanted to be the person I needed when I was younger.
I grew up in a chaotic environment and my survival tactic was to take on a “people-pleaser” personality. I was the fixer, the task master, and the family scapegoat all in one. These habits carried me into adulthood, burned out, overwhelmed and physically ill most of the time.
The stress of managing it all overwhelmed my system and I began having intense physical symptoms, bordering an autoimmune disorder, and finally diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD).
I entered my own relationship with a therapist, and it was life changing.
Therapy bridged the gap between my mental and physical health and allowed me to understand the need for boundaries in all aspects of my life. My journey as a child, woman, mother, and counselor has made me extremely empathetic to the habits we build to function in chaotic circumstances. Learning to give back to yourself with as much effort as you give to others is the ultimate gift in healing. This is what I’d like to help others accomplish. This is what my therapist did for me.

When I am not wearing my “counselor’s hat” I can be found at home enjoying a walk around the neighborhood, strength training, outside working in the yard, cooking, or spending time with my husband and kids.

I have spent my career fully invested in continuing my professional development to ensure I am providing quality services to all. My own relationship with my therapist has been life-changing and transformative and I believe this same change can occur for you. I am dedicated to understanding new strategies and techniques to bring relief to others.
Due to hitting roadblocks in my own journey to a PMDD diagnosis, I am invested in discussing every aspect of your mental, physical and biological needs for greater quality of life.
I would like to join you in this ever-personal journey towards healing and becoming the healthiest version of yourself.
Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, impulsive behaviors, compulsions or physical ailments, I am invested in understanding how to better assist you in your journey to wellness.

My goal in treating individuals has always been to increase your quality of life while you learn to soothe your system and decrease your symptoms.
I am looking forward to getting to know your unique story.
